Therapy Gym & Aquatic Center
Our Therapy Team at Kingston of Miamisburg is a dynamic group. We are dedicated to providing the most current physical, occupational, speech including Vital Stim, and aquatic therapy techniques to deliver the highest quality of therapy services individualized to meet the specific needs of each person we serve.
At Kingston we provide both inpatient and outpatient services. Our spacious therapy gym is equipped with modern equipment and a state-of-the-art heated pool. The goal of the therapy team is to return you or your loved one to the optimal level of functioning and help meet the goals established by the interdisciplinary team.
Aquatic Therapy
Our therapy department has been designed with a therapeutic pool to enhance your stay at the Kingston of Miamisburg. Our therapy staff is trained to provide you or your loved one with aquatic therapy designed to increase your strength, range of motion and motor skills, and to aid you in your return to home or to reach your highest level of function. Feel free to talk to our therapy staff to see if aquatic therapy is appropriate for you or your loved one.
Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists work with our residents to restore function and prevent disability following an illness or injury. As a resident of Kingston of Miamisburg you will be evaluated and begin receiving treatment within 24 hours of admission. Our Physical Therapists are trained to assist you with:
- Pain management
- Balance and gait disorders
- Trauma Rehabilitation
- Strengthening
- Home evaluations
- Family education and training
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists provide services to people whose ability to function in daily life have been disrupted by physical illness or injury, development problems, the aging process and mental or emotional illness. Our Occupational Therapists provide programs such as:
- Dining and feeding
- Comprehensive activities of daily living, such as dressing and personal hygiene
- Positioning and wheelchair evaluation
- Splinting
- Adaptive Equipment
Speech Therapy
Our Speech Language Pathologist works with residents to enhance their communication abilities and to assist residents who have difficulty chewing and swallowing food or liquids. Services available to residents in our Speech Therapy Program include:
- Rehabilitative dining
- Cognitive rehabilitation
- Dysphasia therapy
- Aphasia and language impairment
