Comprehensive Rehabilitation
Our Rehabilitation Team at Kingston Care Center of Fort Wayne is a dynamic group of therapists. We are dedicated to providing the most current physical, occupational and speech therapy techniques to deliver the highest quality of rehabilitation services individualized to meet the specific needs of each person we serve.
At Kingston Care Center of Fort Wayne we provide both inpatient and outpatient services to the residents of Kingston and the surrounding communities. Our spacious therapy gym is equipped with modern equipment and a state-of-the-art therapeutic pool. The goal of the therapy team is to return you or your loved one to the optimal level of functioning and help you meet the goals established by the interdisciplinary team.
Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists work with our residents to restore function and prevent disability following an illness or injury. As a resident of Kingston Care Center of Fort Wayne you will be evaluated and begin receiving treatment within 24 hours of admission.
Our Physical Therapists are trained to assist you with:
- Pain management
- Balance and gait disorders
- Trauma Rehabilitation
- Strengthening
- Home evaluations
- Family education and training
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists provide services to people whose ability to function in daily life have been disrupted by physical illness or injury, development problems, the aging process and mental or emotional illness. Our Occupational Therapists provide programs such as:
- Dining and feeding
- Comprehensive activities of daily living, such as dressing and personal hygiene
- Positioning and wheelchair evaluation
- Splinting
- Adaptive Equipment
Speech Therapy
Our Speech Language Pathologist works with residents to enhance their communication abilities and to assist residents who have difficulty chewing and swallowing food or liquids. Services available to residents in our Speech Therapy Program include:
- Rehabilitative dining
- Cognitive rehabilitation
- Dysphasia therapy
- Aphasia and language impairment
Respite Care
For adults who need 24-hour care when the family or caregiver goes on vacation or needs a break. As a guest of Kingston, your loved one will receive all the services available to long-term residents and participate in a variety of individually tailored activities. As an added service to you, Kingston Care Center provides transportation to our community. Additionally, we provide transportation to follow-up physician appointments in the Fort Wayne area.
